Myriad uses of LED blue lights
Different colors have got different wavelengths and the broad-spectrum white light is created by the mixing of basic colors like red, blue, green etc, which have shorter wavelengths. Because of this, the same light source can be controlled to produce LED blue lights, or green light, or white light as required. Alternatively, white light is also created by combining a single light like blue or ultraviolet with a phosphor to create a white light. With the latter, the production costs will be less but the light will not lend itself to being adjusted to produce different colors.
Ever since LED blue lights came into use, they have been widely used for emergency vehicle lighting requirements. In USA police vehicles use blue warning lights when they need to stop another vehicle. Blue is also used by ambulances, fire engines, and by volunteer firefighters and emergency medical technicians as courtesy lights or as regular warning lights.
In the UK as well as in many European countries and Australia, blue is the predominant color in emergency vehicle warning lights. As such LED blue lights are extensively used by police, ambulance, firefighters etc. Blue lights are also used in the handheld flashlights carried by police and hunters because of the fact that blood stains become clearer when viewed with a blue light.
LED blue lights are also used in cosmetic therapy for skin treatment. It has been found to have a germicidal effect and is seen to be capable of killing bacteria that cause acne. LED blue lights of a wavelength ranging between 405nm and 420nm have the ability to penetrate the skin and generate singlet oxygen which can reduce acne inflammation without causing any notable negative side effects. Singlet oxygen is a form of reactive oxygen with a high therapeutic value.
Many subways and train stations in Japan are resorting to installing LED blue lights in the belief that these lights have a calming effect on the commuters who use the station. These lights are believed to reduce suicidal tendencies of people. Another purported positive effect of LED blue lights is that people with astigmatism problems have been reported to be able to read without glasses under this light.
LED blue lights are today the favorite of electronic equipments manufacturers. Desktops and laptops and mobile phones have LED blue lights on them but there have been customer complaints that continuous exposure to these blue lights are causing glare problems, eye irritation etc. Similar complaints have also been heard from those who had too much exposure to the LED blue lights of emergency vehicles. Some users have chosen to cover the blue lights of computers or change the blue lights of a clock.
LED blue lights also do a great job as decorative lights. It is used as wide angle lights, stalked lights, and as icicle lights for decorating railings, roof lines, and eaves. It is a favorite for Christmas tree ornamentation as well.
Extreme Electrical Dynamics is a one-stop shop for LED blue lights and many other items like Flashlights, Sirens, Deck Lights, etc. Please visit the site for more details of various items available - http://www.extremetacticaldynamics.com/

Collecting Toy Soldiers - Marx Playsets
Marx playsets are among the most in demand and sought after collectors' items today. Collecting vintage toys is one interesting hobby; collecting items from Louis Marx and Company makes the activity further interesting and worthwhile. To date, there is a rising number of people who are into buying and collecting the toy soldiers and playsets made by them.
Marx playsets had been among the most sought after and well known toy sets, particularly for their toys created during the 50's, the 60's and the 70's. In those days, every active little boy would have included the toy soldiers and the supporting playsets and other accessories in their Christmas and gift-giving wish lists. Your dad or your grand dad probably would be able to tell you their childhood tales about playing with and enjoying their favorite Marx playsets.
Marx playsets are collections of action or military figures and adjoining accessories. The toy soldiers and other figures were given their own miniature environments and accessories so that they could be played with and enjoyed by kids who liked to set up their own miniature battlegrounds or western towns. In the past, such playsets were played individually or along with other kids.
Usually, the themes of such playsets were war-related, depicting soldiers' from different time periods as well as various famous battlefield engagements. But there were also lots of western themed playsets that were very popular as many of them were based on hit tv shows on the period.
Collecting Marx playsets is truly one of the most interesting hobbies people have today. The vintage playsets can frequently be found individually or through sets at online auctions sites. There are also modern re-issues to consider as well -- usually poured from the same molds as the originals. But usually vintage Marx playsets are more expensive and are more valuable to serious collectors.
Toy soldiers and other playset pieces were usually made of various metals, which is very characteristic of the toy industry prior to World War II. But as the war effort ramped up, Louis Marx and Company started producing their toys in sturdy plastic. Both the plastic and metal figures are highly collectible today though, so it just depends on how you want to focus your collection.

I Weekly's Top 5 Persons of 2009
I Weekly's Top 5 Persons of the Year!
When it came to I Weekly's Top 5 Persons of the Year we debated heavily on who had the most shine and exceeded in their individual crafts. In the end there was no contest and everyone was in agreement that the following 5 persons did it big in '09. From the death of Music’s biggest icon that outsold most artists in 2009 in a matter of weeks to singing sensation Beyonce who took her stardom to new levels it's hard to discredit these 5 persons. We know you will agree.
1. Michael Jackson
The King of Pop became bigger in death than he was in life, a hard fete to top considering he was the most popular Entertainer in the World. People will forever remember where they were when they heard the news of Jackson's death. Michael Jackson made history earlier in the year selling out 1 million tickets to his London "This is It" concerts. His music catalogs together still sold millions each year despite the fact that Jackson had not put out any new music in years. He will forever be the King of Pop to us and the Greatest Entertainer to ever live.
2. President Barack Obama & First Lady Michelle Obama
Do we need to say more? President Obama first made a stir at the 2004 Democratic convention as a young Senator out of Chicago that caught everyone's eye with his stunning speech. Then his book "The Audacity of Hope" made him millions and put him on the best seller's list. And as if that was not enough Obama made history by becoming the First Black President of the United States. And as the saying goes beside every great man is a equally great woman. And that great woman is none other than our First Lady Michelle Obama. Michelle has taken her role as first lady seriously and has changed the role to fit interest near and dear to her heart, family and mentoring. She has opened the white house to children and families making America feel, as they are a part of their family. Through hard work, dedication and servitude, together this team has brought back hope to America and made us believe that “Anything is Possible” And so it should be!
3. Tiger Woods
Tiger Woods had the biggest headlines in 2009 after the King of Pop of the golf course. But when it comes to golf there is no comparison he is the absolute best. His pure athleticism makes him a force to be reckoned with on the golf course. After recovering from knee surgery, Woods returned to the game to win 9 games in 2009. Make no mistake about it, his image may have taken a big hit but Tiger will return to the game better than ever in 2010. After all the bad press, watch for Tiger to unleash the beast!
4. Beyonce
All the Single Ladies, All the Single Ladies, Get Your Hands Up! This year Sasha Fierce took Beyonce exactly where she wanted to go to the top! As she sings on "Diva" radio is where you can find me because that's where I live. And live did she. From her number one hits, world tour, private concerts in Vegas, Thanksgiving Special, starring in the #1 movie Obsessed and more Beyonce proved she is an icon in the making. Single Ladies was the most copied song and video of the year. If you hadn't heard "Single Ladies" you apparently were living on Mars. And if you didn't like "Single Ladies" at first listen, you too eventually succumbed to the catchy tune and found yourself humming married or not "If you like it, then you should have put a Ring on It"!
5. Oprah
Oprah announced amongst tears that 2010 would be the end of her popular powerhouse talk show. No one has transformed television and the lives of the viewers that tune in daily to watch her than the one name wonder...Oprah! She rakes in millions each year with her Production Company Harpo and talk show. She has purchased a cable network that she will run after leaving her show. She has built an all girls school in Africa and she puts out the popular O Magazine each month gracing each cover. There is nothing Oprah can't do and proves it each year getting better and better. There are no year-end lists without Oprah!

The Largest Country in the World
During the early 14th century, the Grand Duchy of Moscow began to build a sphere of influence in Western Russia. Utilizing the Russian Orthodox Church, Ivan the Great organized a resistance to the rule of the Mongol-Tatars who controlled much of the region. In the Battle of Kulikovo in 1380, his forces were able to throw off the invaders and build the foundation of the Russian Empire, eventually annexing Tver and Novgorod. With the fall of Constantinople in 1453, Moscow became the new center of the eastern world. Ivan the Terrible was crowned Tsar of Russia in 1547. He annexed Kazan and Astrakhan and turned Russia into a multiethnic nation. In 1550, a new code of laws was formed, establishing the first feudal system in Russia. He also launched the Livonian War. Ultimately, a coalition of Lithuania, Poland and Sweden was mobilized against the fledgling Russian Empire. Battles raged for years over access to the Baltic coast and trading regions. Besides the heavy military losses, the countryside was ravaged by a series of epidemics and continued famine from poor harvests. This culminated in a battle with the Crimean Tatars who were able to burn down the city of Moscow. After his death and the untimely death of his cons, civil war ravaged the nation. Famine continued and the early 1600s became known as the Time of Troubles. Despite this, the nation continued to expand, establishing settlements in Eastern Siberia, along the Amur River, onto the Chukchi Peninsula and onto the Pacific coast itself. In 1648, Russian explorers identified the Bering Strait, another access point to the North American continent. The Romanov dynasty continued to reign. Peter the Great led the nation into a world power. He took control of the Tsardom in 1682, he was victorious in the Great Northern War against Sweden, gaining more territory, securing access to the sea. He built St. Petersburg and began establishing Western European cultural changes. When Catherine the Great took power in 1762, she solidified the country as one of the great powers of Europe. She organized an alliance with Prussia and Austria in an effort to stand against Napoleon's forces on their march across Europe. Catherine also annexed much of the territory of Poland and Lithuania, expanding heavily into the west. These gains continued into the early 19th century with the defeat of Turkey. The Russian Empire was faced with a great challenge when Napoleon's armies stormed into the country in 1812. However, after raising the largest army in known history, Napoleon was destroyed by the cold Russian winter with 95 percent of his forces perishing. This conflict created great social upheaval within the nation, bringing liberalism to the leadership. In 1825, an attempted revolution known as the Decembrist Revolt failed to overthrow the monarchy and created years of political repression. Serfdom continued under Nicolas I, causing the increased development across the rest of the industrialized world to grow stagnant in Russia. Alexander II, who came to power in 1855 abolished serfdom. This caused further industrialization, Alexander III, his son, failed to capitalize on these advancements. When Nicholas II came to power, the harsh working conditions in factories gave rise to a burgeoning socialist movement. In January 1905, striking workers were fired upon by the Tsar's troops. This first revolution established many reforms that Nicholas II has to deal with, including a legislative branch. Failure in the Russo-Japanese War, further famine and a cholera epidemic spurred further unrest. Ultimately, the onset of World War I and the deaths of countless Russian troops gave way to the Bolshevik Revolution that brought about civil war and the ultimate rise of the Communist Party. Iran's Atomic Bomb?
The world has watched, waited, fretted, and jaw-boned for years now about preventing Iran from having nuclear capability. Nearly everyone hs said that it's totally unacceptable. And? Is this something akin to the piracy that goes on off the coast of Somalia. Everyone is talking about it, but no one is doing anything to stop it. And now we learn that Iran just may have enough enriched uranium to have their first bomb. Is it Israeli time?
Iran has now produced roughly enough nuclear material to make, with added purification, a single atom bomb, according to nuclear experts analyzing the latest report from global atomic inspectors. The figures detailing Iran's progress were contained in a routine update on Wednesday from the International Atomic Energy Agency, which has been conducting inspections of the country's main nuclear plant at Natanz. The report concluded that as of early this month, Iran had made 630 kilograms, or about 1,390 pounds, of low-enriched uranium.
Now what Barack?
With Russia and China refusing to back further sanctions, all that remains diplomatically is for incoming President Barack Obama to try and use direct negotiations. Unless there is a miracle and the Russians and Chinese join in, there is little else that can be done diplomatically. For President-elect Barack Obama, the report underscores the magnitude of the problem that he will inherit Jan. 20: an Iranian nuclear program that has not only solved many technical problems of uranium enrichment, but that can also now credibly claim to possess enough material to make a weapon if negotiations with Europe and the United States break down.
American intelligence agencies have said Iran could make a bomb between 2009 and 2015. A national intelligence estimate made public late last year concluded that around the end of 2003, after long effort, Iran had halted work on an actual weapon. But enriching uranium, and obtaining enough material to build a weapon, is considered the most difficult part of the process.
So, if the world's community can't handle the pirates off the coast of Somalia, what do we think we can do with Iran?

Are You Watching The Watchmen
The comic book medium is one that has flourished around the world as just as viable as any other form of entertainment such as books, music, or film. Everywhere in the world, that is, except for America, where comic books are looked at, predominantly, as a children's medium.
However, in the late 1970s, several comic book writers who were fed up with not being taken seriously sought to change the way people look at comics. They sought to receive the same respect that comic book writers in places like Japan, Belgium, and Italy receive. In the 1980s comic books were becoming darker with more mature storylines that strayed from the simple good guy vs. bad guy plots that American readers were accustomed to.
Perhaps the greatest example of this was Watchmen by writer Alan Moore and artist Dave Gibbons. Watchmen told a politically charged story of superheroes in the 1980s who were all too human due to their severe character flaws and very unheroic behavior.
The series is considered by many to be the best comic book series of all time and is a standard read for anyone who has been introduced to the medium. There have been several attempts in the past two decades to produce a film of the book, but unfortunately, they all fell through the roof. It wasn't until 2007, after the release of the film 300 was it announced that director Zak Snyder would be bringing Watchmen to the big screen.
The film's plot concerns an alternate 1985 where superheroes exist, tensions between the United States and the Soviet Union are at an all time high. The vigilante Rorschach (Jackie Earl Hayley) is investigating the murder of the Comedian (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), and uncovers a plot to discredit and murder various heroes. Rorschach discovers a far wider ranging conspiracy involving his colleagues' past which could completely change the course of history.
The film has, however, gained some backlash from writer Alan Moore, who has stated that he will not see the film due to the fact that he has been displeased with every other film based on his work and that he does not want any credit in the film, whether it is good or not. However, artist Dave Gibbons has gone on to say that the film appears to be true to the spirit of the original work and that he fully supports the film.

Beginning of this year, already has a "China Villa hegemony" of the reputation of the Mission Hills renewed rumors of breaking news: Mission Hills Golf Club has successfully won the 2007-2018 period of 12 consecutive sessions of the right to host the World Cup of Golf has been a number of authoritative media in Europe and the United States have described as "the Beijing Olympics the Chinese sports event after another,"!
Even more shocking is the world's top supplier Omega watches, after learning of the news quickly and Mission Hills officially signed up to 1.2 billion the total amount of astronomical contract! Ultimately from a number of well-known international brands stand out and become the 12th consecutive Mission Hills Golf World Cup title sponsor.
Mission Hills Golf World Cup in the end is a kind of event, it is worth Omega's Costly whom the 1.2 billion who spent huge sums of money? Phoenix Satellite TV is already savvy heard about Mission Hills Golf World Cup will host the message, thus decisively billion purchase of F Wang enjoying the great appreciation of the effect of economic events? "Omega Mission Hills World Cup of Golf" will officially start in November this year.
Omega Mission Hills by signing with the high price of this contract, throughout the history of world sports are extremely rare! Up to 12 billion Yuan, a huge sponsorship, or even likely to have exceeded the Omega as a global partner to the International Olympic Committee Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, the amount provided by the sponsor. Even more mind-boggling is that this 1.2 billion is also more than just sponsorship costs, Omega to achieve a good effect on the market, the matching promotional funds are likely to also be as high as one billion Yuan or more!
1 pairs of events, however, has deep economic research of economists continue to insist that Omega will be the next 12 session of the World Cup of Golf biggest winner. "World Cup of Golf as the world's highest level, but also the only form of confrontation, the state's top golf tournament, the Olympic Games has always enjoyed the reputation of aristocracy, its global influence of the elite in no way inferior to the Olympics or soccer's World Cup!”The economist said:" Swiss Omega watches the future of marketing in China, Gong Lue in fact very clear, that is, through two premier events on the target customer base to form a strong cover. But these two top-level events, one is the Olympic Games, and the other is the Mission Hills World Cup of Golf! "
Mission Hills won the right to host the World Cup for 12 consecutive sessions of golf, the golf industry has created one of the worlds can not transcend history. However, in much insider view, "will forever be contending for first place," the Mission Hills Group must not stop here. Mission Hills are likely to spend much in the next 12 years, with a huge investment to build the World Cup of Golf to become the world's most influential international sports events, and thus to promote golf as a truly global movement!
It is precisely because of the strong intervention Mission Hills will soon be on November 22 the official start at the Mission Hills

A well-known experts in golf operations analysis of an interview with reporters said: " Goldman Sachs had predicted that the Olympics will be from 2002 to 2008 between the Chinese to accelerate annual GDP growth of 0.3%, our preliminary estimate of 12 consecutive sessions of the Mission Hills World Cup will also Shenzhen, Dongguan, two to create 300-500 million economic benefits! Barack Obama's Mythic Hero Image: an Appraisal
A brief overview of the main newspapers, news sites and TV channels shows that, despite the fact it's been a month since the US election, "Obamania" is still in full swing. Obama has become something of a popular culture icon, on the par of Madonna, Batman and rock stars. It has then occurred to me that Obama’s image and story can be compared to Joseph Campbell’s myth of the Hero, which Campbell called the “monomyth” (1). Whether consciously or unconsciously, people – and sometimes Obama himself – tend to project this image upon him. As early as 2006, he was called star and legend (2), and recently I have even read an online blog where the writer called him ‘savior’! (3) Mind you, I’m not laying a claim of profound originality on this – I discovered then that George Lucas has already made note of Obama following the Hero’s Journey (4) and there are two bloggers that talked about it, albeit sketchily (5, 6). However, I would like to look at this more in detail than the others I have read - and this article will be lengthier than most others!
Let’s start with the beginning. For those that don’t know, Joseph Campbell (1904-1987) was one of the foremost mythologists of his age (7). He is primarily remembered for his groundbreaking book, The Hero with a Thousand Faces. It is in this one that he articulated the myth of the hero’s journey, which directly influenced George Lucas’ Star Wars, Disney’s The Lion King, and countless movies and books ever since (8). The book ‘deconstructs’ the journey of the hero in three parts. It is my intention here to compare these with the story of Obama’s rise to power and Presidency.
Preliminary:
As per Campbell’s analysis, the hero is someone naturally special, singled out in some manner amongst his peers. Born of an African father and white mother, Obama’s mixed heritage has marked him out as a ‘special’ person right from the start. Furthermore, a characteristic of the Campbellian hero is that he is often cast aside by his family as in the story of Moses. This is an archetype Obama fits very well: he was abandoned, only two years old, by his Kenyan father Barack Obama Sr, whom he met only once more in his lifetime. This has had a major impact on him, according to his best-selling autobiography Dreams from My Father (9).
Part I: Departure
1. The Call to Adventure: the hero receives a beacon call, often from another person (called a ‘herald’)
Obama describes a moment of self-awakening in his book Dreams from My Father, when he realizes, following one-year work with a corporate firm, that his calling was to work for the poor (10).
2. Refusal of the Call – sometimes, the hero initially refuses the call for action.
This is an optional element in Campbell’s book that does not apply to Obama, who comes across as a positive and ambitious person.
3. Supernatural Aid – the hero is helped by a protective figure that gives him support
In youth, Obama’s main support seem to have been his mother, Stanley Ann Durnham, and his grandfather Stanley Durnham, who acted as a surrogate father (11). In politics, an important figure was Illinois State Senator Emil Jones, the leader of the Democrats. His wife, whom Obama has called his ‘rock’ also had an important influence on his political career.
4. The Crossing of the First Threshold – the hero must pass a first test to enter into the new world of heroic action
There were some key decisive moments in Obama’s life that shaped his future career as a politician. One was his decision after two years of attending Occidental College in California to transfer to Columbia University, where he graduated in political science. Another, to seek a low-paid job as a community organizer in Chicago. Thirdly, his decision after two years of working in Chicago to go to Harvard Law School.
5. The Belly of the Whale – the hero must pass through an initiatory trial that involves a descent into a dark or dangerous realm
In Dreams of My Father, Obama presented his darkest moments as the heavy consumption of drugs and alcohol both at Punahou high school and at the Occidental College. Obama confessed to becoming a “pothead” in order to “push questions of who I was out of my mind” (12). Eventually, however, he got his life in order by moving from Occidental College to Columbia University.
Part II: Initiation
1. Road of Trials – succession of obstacles
Barack Obama has encountered a number of obstacles that he has surpassed in political ascendancy. The first was the candidature for the Illinois State Senate in 1996, when he had to eliminate better titled candidates. He succeeded, albeit using what some critics said as being unfair tactics – he successfully challenged the voting campaign of both candidates who were hence legally suspended from the contest (13).
The second obstacle was his failed candidacy to US House of Representatives in 2000, when he was defeated by incumbent Bobby Rush by two to one. This was a sore defeat, the only time when he considered giving up politics altogether (14). He didn’t, and Obama learned many useful aspects of campaigning from this attempt.
In 2004, he successfully run his candidacy for US Senate. Finally, in 2007, he obtained the endorsement of the Democrats for Presidency against the better titled Hillary Clinton.
2. The Meeting with the Goddess – marriage between the hero and a queenlike or mother-like figure
In 1988, Obama met Michelle Robinson, a fellow Harvard Law graduate, while he was doing a summer internship at law firm Sidley Austin. He married her in 1992. Obama is deeply admirative of his wife, whom he called “his rock”. He speaks of her, “There’s something about her that projects such honesty and strength. It’s what makes her such an unbelievable professional, and partner, and mother, and wife” (15).
3. Woman as the Temptress – rejection of a powerful female figure
A read of Obama’s life shows that he seems to respect or even admire female figures. First was his mother Stanley Ann; then there was Michelle Obama. Finally there were other political mentors like Alice Palmer (16). If there was one woman whom Obama had to ‘reject’ it was Hillary Clinton, his Democrat counter-candidate for Presidency. Nevertheless, Obama did not seem to harbor bad feelings toward Hillary, neither did she act in a ‘corruptive’ sort of manner toward Obama.
4. Atonement with the Father – reconciliation with the tyrant and merciful aspects of a father-like authority figure
As Dreams of My Father shows, Obama was affected by the absence of his father, Barack Obama Sr (17). An important part of young Obama’s life was taken by his effort to reconcile his father’s absence with his ever-present racial heritage.
5. Apotheosis – the hero’s expansion of the self, or profound alteration of the perception of reality
Obama’s first apotheosis was his famed 2004 speech at the Democratic National Convention, that would bring him into the spotlight and change the course of his career. Obama’s final apotheosis was his candidacy and success to the bid for the Democratic nomination in 2007.
6. Ultimate Boon – the hero obtains a key item or victory
His first major victory was his landslide win in the US Senate in 2004; next, his Democratic nomination in 2007 and finally, his election as President in 2008.
Part III: Return
1. Refusal of the Return – having attained enlightenment or bliss, the hero may not want to return to the ordinary world
This is not the case in Obama’s case, since his victory was attained in the ‘ordinary’ world, not some otherwordly or mythical land. Furthermore, he has always been an ambitious figure, who would not settle in one place but aim higher (18), (19).
2. Magic Flight – the hero may have to wrestle the ‘boon’
Obama had to pull all his stops in the Democratic presidential nomination of 2007, which had to be wrestled from much better-titled Hillary Clinton.
3. Rescue from Without – the hero may need supernatural support to bring the boon into the ordinary world
There were several moments when Obama’s ‘lucky streak’ played in. It isn't a coincidence that Washington Post, in an article from August 2007, called his ascent to US Senate as “A Series of Fortunate Events” (20). They recorded how in 2004 his win for US Senate was helped by the decision of Peter Fitzgerald, the incumbent Senator, not to run for his own seat again, by the domestic abuse charges brought against Democrat counter candidate Blair Hull, who was the favorite for the seat just one month before the election and by Republican counter candidate Jack Ryan’s domestic sex scandal. Obama eventually came in to win the Senate seat by a landslide victory: 70% (21).
4. Crossing the Return Threshold – the hero returns to the ordinary world
The ‘return threshold’ is undoubtedly the win of the American Presidency, which was both a challenge and a given – following his win of the Democrat nomination over Hillary Clinton.
5. Master of the Two Worlds – the hero pertains both the divine and human worlds
Following his political ascendancy and experience, Obama is now seen as fit to run the USA and able to share his vision to the American people.
6. Freedom to Live – the hero bestows the boon to his fellows.
Once he has won the Presidency, Obama is now in the position of contributing to the betterment of American life and of improving America’s tarnished image abroad.
Conclusions: Barack Obama’s story and image fits quite well with Campbell’s “Hero’s Journey” pattern, even if it does not flow in a linear fashion as Campbell designed it. This is, after all, natural: Campbell was disecting single-story fairy tales and books, but Obama is real-life figure and his life goes beyond the imaginary.
On the other hand, one aspect worth noting is that Campbell’s pattern does not go beyond point 6 where the hero is in the position of bestowing the ‘boon’ to the other people. Obama must go beyond the Campbellian heroic journey into the actual work of sharing the boon. Currently, Obama is a hero because of his past, and the symbol of change, youth and racial unity that he symbolizes. However, it is his long-run work that will define him as a true hero.

Mens Jewelry Makes a Great Gift
“Time On My Hands” – The World of Mens Jewelry
Had the great songwriting team of Vincent Youmans, Mack Gordon and Harold Adamson been composing songs about mens watches when they penned the sentimental hit Time On My Hands back in 1930, the title might have been “Time On My Wrist,” for by then, mens watches had emerged from pockets for good, and are today perhaps the most popular and most frequently item of mens jewelry.
Most people today do not realize that the first designer watches were actually wrist watches designed for women. An early example was the ladies’ “bracelet watch” that was sold in the U.S. shortly after the American Civil War. Practical timepieces for men – such as dive watches and other watches for active individuals – did not come along for almost forty years afterward when the first wrist watch for men was designed for Franco-Brazilian aviator Alberto Santos-Dumont in 1904.
Luxury Watches Today
Today’s mens watches are more rugged and durable than even the finest pocket watches of the early 20th Century, yet combine this durability with beauty and craftsmanship that is worthy of the label “mens jewelry.” Mens gold watches were a traditional gift to an employee who had been with a company for forty years back when people often made a career at a single firm, and diamond mens watches remain a popular anniversary gift.
Today, there are two companies the names of which are virtually synonymous with high-quality luxury watches. One is Citizen, and the other is Movado.
The former company started out in 1918 as the Shoshoka Watch Institute of Japan; the name was changed to “Citizen” in 1930. This company manufactures fine dive watches as well as some of the most coveted luxury watches in the world.
Movado is located in Switzerland; this company’s product is primarily responsible for the term “runs like a Swiss watch.” These designer watches are generally considered to be some of the most accurate and dependable timepieces ever made. Mens gold watches and diamond mens watches from Movado (Esperanto for “I move”) are of a unique minimalist design that make them among the most distinctive pieces of mens jewelry on the market today. However, those who are considering the purchase of one of the many fine Mens Gold Watches made by this company – whether for themselves or as distinctive gifts for someone else – may have a serious problem, because Movado makes over 100 different models of luxury watches!
In any event, if you are stumped over the ideal gift, it’s good to know about mens watches. Whether it’s for a rite of passage such as a graduation or bar-mitzvah, an anniversary or birthday, or to honor someone’s outstanding achievement, mens watches are always appropriate – and always welcome.

What is There More of in America... Racism or Sexism?
You choose. Whether it be a feminist like myself, or just an ordinary person. What do we see more of in the U.S? True this is the land of opportunity, but is that chance given to all of us equally? Do certain people have the jobs they hold because of the color they are, or their gender?
A lot of racism still exists all over this country, for instance; if you take a look at the South compared to how the rest of the society is…what exactly do you see? It’s not all friendly and welcoming to many. Criticism can be used at points to the extreme, turning it into a racial discrimination. But I believe at this point in time living in a melting pot of cultures, everyone has an idea of prejudice still sticking around.
What about sexism? How come this is not taken as seriously as racism? It is still a form of intolerance. There are millions of men out there, walking freely with a mind of empowerment over women. Thousands of women out there are living and standing an abusive relationship. The more power these men have, the harder it is to stop them from what they are doing. Most of these women wont utter a word, because they are scared and don’t have enough financial support to take care of a family by themselves. The others completely lost all of their strength and self-esteem.
Many men turn out the way they are because they were rather brought up that way, and tend to carry on the footsteps of their father. Being young you’re like a sponge, they probably saw their fathers treat their mothers or other women poorly. Women get treated like dirt by some of these men. They are sometimes taken as less then human, treated like objects. They are exploited all over media for their bodies only. I could think of a hundred things that are demeaning to women. In America, a lot of these cases are kept hidden. But look at places like the Middle East, they are allowed to show nothing but their eyes. They do not even have the right to drive, or be out without a male acquaintance. Some might take it as religion, but is it justice? The rates of rapes are still no less over there. Although at this time Congo being so corrupted has the worst rape cases.
It’s not always the woman’s fault. Putting yourself in a situation like that doesn’t really count if you are being forced. These men who are walking on the streets openly can be a danger to innocent lives. Take a look at novels written about men who want complete power over women because of the simple fact of them being male. Bastard out of Carolina, The Color Purple can be some examples. The rate of domestic violence is starting to top the charts in the U.S, so are the rapes. I feel a man who rapes just wants power, that’s all. Over something or in this case someone, so they go after women. Clearly they can’t do that to 7 feet tall 500lbs "Big Show", so they choose their victims cautiously, knowing that they can succeed and countless times even get away with it.
As I mentioned earlier, more than half of these cases and men are hidden to the society in America. Yes, feminists, and other women who do have the courage are protesting…but is it enough? Besides the racist populace, women deserve the same rights and opportunities as men have. Think about the types of jobs. Why aren’t there women plumbers? In some cases, a whole new concept for what freedom is. Sexism shouldn’t conquer, bravery should. Racism isn’t the only issue people should lose sleep on. Thus, I’ll just leave you with one more thing, diminishing sexism in your country…go home and I’ll let you sleep on it.

Heart Rate Monitors Allow Pregnant Runners To Continue Training
Before hitting the roads for a run a pregnant woman should consult her doctor about continuing her exercise program. Make sure to keep your obstetrician informed about the type and amount of running/exercise you are doing. In most cases if a woman ran or exercised prior to finding out she was pregnant the doctor will encourage her to continue exercising during the pregnancy. The important word is before because your body is accustomed to exercising already. You may have to run slower and at a different time of the day but there are lots of benefits for staying active during your pregnancy. You don't want to be running during the hottest time of day in the summer months. A pregnant woman should keep her core body temperature below 102 degrees to prevent fetal hyperthermia (over heating).
Another key element for a pregnant woman while running or exercising is her heart rate. Your heart rate will help determine how hard the individual is working while running of exercising. Most doctors suggest keeping a pregnant woman's heart rate below 140 beats per minute during the run. Monitoring her heart rate during exercise is essential for both mother and the unborn child health. The extra weight will make your bodywork harder then it did before you where pregnant. This is true even if you are working at a slower pace. Intense exercise boosts oxygen intake and blood flow to the muscles and away from other parts of your body such as your uterus.
If you don't have a heart rate monitor you would have to stop and count the beats for 10 seconds then multiply the number by 6 to get your heart rate per minute. Heart rate monitor provide a simple and accurate way to observe and regulate the woman's heart rate during exercise. When you train with a heart rate monitor watch it will allow you to train continuously and get her instant feedback. You can preset your limit of 140 beats and the watch will beep letting you know you are going to above your limit. Since you will know instantly when you are above your heart rate of 140 beats you can adjust your pace immediately. Most monitors use a weak radio signal to transfer heart rate from a strap you wear around your chest to a watch. This is safe for both mother and child.
I have three children and ran during all of my pregnancies. I personally was able to run until the day before I delivered each of my children. I didn't run the day I delivered because they all arrived early in the morning. My body was accustomed to running between 70 plus miles a week before I found out I was pregnant. The only thing that changed for me was I ran slower and shorter. The monitor helped me adjust my training pace as my body was adjusting to each pregnancy. Wearing a monitor helped me continue running while pregnant by giving me peace of mind that I was not harming my child. The fun part was when I entered a few 5k races. Other runners would get frustrated to a pregnant runner enjoying the race. I was use to running hard in races but being pregnant I just ran for fun.

Beep! Beep!: Competing in the Age of the Road Runner $17.01 In today's business world there are two kinds of executives...the Wile E. Coyote and the Road Runner. The hapless Coyote plots and plans to capture the elusive bird, but never achieves his long-term goal. For most business executives today, the Coyote has become the prevailing metaphor, as they rely more and more on conventional and outdated resources. This doesn't have to be the case, as Bell and Harari show business entrepreneurs how to hit the road running with instant speed and adaptability to harsh conditions. |

Comic Book Century $19.66 This book charts the history of American comic books, from 1930s comic strip collections to contemporary graphic novels. The author examines how comic books have reflected, and in some cases even shaped, American pop culture. In 1965, Feiffer wrote what is arguably the first critical history of the comic book superheroes of the late 1930s and early 1940s, including Plastic Man, Batman, Superman, The Spirit and others. In the book, Feiffer writes about the unique the place of comics in the space between high and low art and the power which this space offers both the creator and reader. The Great Comic Book Heroes is widely acknowledged to be the first book to analyze the juvenile medium of superhero comics in a critical manner, but without denying the iconic hold such works have over readers of all ages. Out of print for over 30 years, Feiffer's book discusses the role that the patriotic superhero played during World War II in shaping the public spirit of civilians and soldiers, as well as the escapist power these stories held over the zeitgeist of America. With wit and insight Feiffer discusses what the great comic book heroes meant to him as a child and later as an artist; along with his trenchant and wrly-written commentary, the book includes numerous illustrated examples of strips and characters discussed. |

Star Wars: The Clone Wars - Republic Heroes Download - Star Wars: The Clone Wars - Republic Heroes Review
Star Wars: The Clone Wars -- Republic Heroes stars the heroes of the recent computer-animated series and film. Mixing known quantities like Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker with new faces like Ahsoka Tano (lovingly nicknamed Snips by Anakin), Republic Heroes sets up a plot involving General Greivous making a power play within the fragile republic.

And if that's not enough drama, it is set against the background of the evil Count Dooku and his separatists engaging in a full-scale war with the Senate-controlled clone army. War. Political intrigue. Shadowy figures doing dastardly things. Energy swords. How could any of this be boring?
Well, Lucasarts found a way. Republic Heroes is about as much fun as watching Mace Windu do the dishes. At no point in the game does the narrative pick up steam. Neither does the action.
You control two heroes at the same time, switching back and forth for co-operative action. This promises to infuse the game with some strategy. Will Obi-Wan stealthily flank the droid army's position while a clone trooper draws fire away from his master?

Or how about Anakin barreling head-first into a horde of enemies, his tempter getting the better of him while Ahsoka tries to thin the herd and save Anakin from himself? Nope. You get a lot of switch puzzles and uncoordinated combat scenes. One hero shoots some dudes on a platform while the other shoots more dudes on a lower road.
