Does anyone know where I can find Doctor Who series 1 episode The End of The World?

okay, I don't live in the UK so I can't watch Doctor Who on the TV. I want to know where I can watch Doctor Who series 1 episode 2, The End of The World on the internet. I want it to be free, and please no downloading. Something is wrong with my computer at the moment, and I really don't wanna have to download something new on it.

How Can Learning Jazz Improve a Classical Musician's Skills-mozart Learned Improvisation

Classical music is a sophisticated art form where talking during performances (much less to the musicians) is frowned upon. Yet in jazz, it is very common for the audience to speak to musicians during performances as a way of complimenting their improvisational skills.

Elements of jazz can be found in gospel, country, pop, R&B, movie soundtracks, and other musical forms. However, when the average person uses the word "jazz," they may not understand the culture or the language.

Many people associate improvisation with jazz and vice-versa. However, improvisation has been an integral part of classical music history, stemming back to the medieval period in Gregorian chants. These chants used additional melodies above the Cantus Firmus (fixed melody in Latin), which were improvised by Medieval musicians to glorify God. In the later periods, improvisation was used in performances outside of churches. J.S. Bach, Handel, Mozart, Beethoven, and Liszt all excelled in improvisation, which was then referred to as extemporization. Bartok's "Mikrokosmos" were originally improvised as were Beethoven's famous sketch books (which he later used in formal works).

Near the beginning of the 20th Century, improvisation disappeared in the Romantic Period as performers began mastering composers' works note for note; the art of improvisation was eventually lost. Schubert's impromptus, contrary to their title, were not improvised but written out methodically. Playing classical music well is a skill requiring great discipline and talent, but the same can be said for jazz. Both disciplines use the same musical alphabet, yet have somehow managed to create different nomenclatures for each respectively.

Historically, jazz music has not been associated with higher education. However, the great Scott Joplin, an African-American jazz composer of the late 19th to early 20th century, took formal lessons with a classical German-born piano teacher and the Creole performers of New Orleans were often Conservatory-trained in Paris.

Both classical and jazz music are disciplines requiring creativity. The classical musician, after mastering the techniques must interpret the score and bring the written notes to life in a performance. The challenge of a jazz musician is to use, simultaneously, both improvisational talent and the technique required to perform unplanned music for a live audience. To draw an analogy, a classical musician is like an actor with a full script – having to memorize and master it, then bringing the character to life. A jazz musician is like an actor with no script, only a few guidelines to follow, yet charged with creating dialogue and instantly performing in character. In its purest essence, technicality must be mastered. One would argue that the task of learning and memorizing a sonata (15-60 pages) or concerto (often exceeding 100 pages) is a phenomenal task! The best classical and jazz musicians must both be proficient in technique, but the more challenging task is for them to able to augment their technical skills in a performance to move their audience emotionally. All musicians need to play from their hearts to truly affect their audience in a meaningful way.

Recently, Conservatory Canada has implemented a new examination category implementing jazz idioms, nomenclature and styles. The Royal Conservatory has for several years used a popular syllabus for their studies selection. In addition to the previously mentioned Jazz Studies program offered at Juilliard, Ivy League schools have also shown their support; Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Stanford, and Berkley currently offer or are implementing jazz programs. These institutions have embraced an original approach in combining classical and jazz instruction.

We cannot claim that one art form is more or less sophisticated than another. Classical musicians may not fully comprehend jazz culture, just as jazz musicians may not fully interpret classical culture. However, because music is a universal language, the understanding of its different forms and dialects are beneficial. These new "bilingual" musicians are able to better communicate with their audience in various ways. Following the same "early education" concept used for spoken languages, we need to educate children in both classical and jazz music. Children who study classical and jazz at the same time will be able to understand both cultures and fully realize their musical potential.

Activate the Energy of the Universe

Did you know that you can not create energy yourself? You can just activate the universal energy, which exists always and will always exist. This Energy gave you life. It's always there, at every moment, for everyone.

There is no such thing like people with a lot of energy and other ones without energy.

The difference is that energetic people know how to activate this always available energy.
And the low energy people, they block this energy, which is although always available for them too!

Energy does not decide something like :"Hey I like this one so I will send her energy, and the other one over there I don't like so he won't get any of my energy". This is nonsense!
The same counts for diseases. A disease does not "choose" a body to attack. How would it do it? Can you imagine a cancer saying : "I don't like the way he cuts his hair, so I will attack his liver?" or "I can't stand the way she talks so I will attack her breast?"

There is no such thing. It would be absurd. We have much more to say to our body and our life than we can understand for now or than we will want to admit for ourselves. Because to understand this is to take responsibility. Once we know that we "ask" for disease - by thinking of it all the time, by running from one doctor to another, by reading all articles about diseases in magazines, by telling our friends and family about all our pains and troubles - than we have to change our behavior and start to behave like a healthy person, who tries to understand why he got ill, and tries to see how he can change his way of thinking and handling to stay healthy.

It's much the same for energy. Energy is always there. It never goes away, it never slows down, otherwise our whole galaxy would fall apart. The same energy which holds the stars at place in the sky, which makes grass grow and turn the earth on his own axis, is available for us. Can you imagine? It's tremendous and there for us!

You can activate this energy for you by thinking the right thoughts, that is thoughts which stimulate you instead of turning you down, thoughts which bring you health instead of disease, thoughts which make you feel loved instead of fearing loneliness, thoughts which bring you wealth instead of poverty.

Is thinking about all this nice stuff enough to bring it into your life? No! Otherwise it would be so easy just to lean back and think about everything you want and floops....it's there! We all would be fairies and make the world whatever we want without doing anything.

Luckily it doesn't work like that! It would be dangerous! We need something else to make our thoughts create what we want : it is action. The combination of both will give us what we want : dreaming about what we want and putting ourselves into action, that is taking steps in the direction of our thoughts.

At each step we take, the universe also takes a step toward us. By our thoughts and our actions we activate this enormous universal energy to work for us. We make it move in the direction of realizing our dreams.

So the formula is pretty simple : first you dream, than you take action in the direction of your dream. This will generate energy to help you take the next step. The energy generated by this step will help you take the next step. And so on....

How do you know which action to take? Follow your guts, follow your intuïtion. It's the best guide you can find!

Stop worrying. Instead dream, think of what you want and get yourself moving in the direction of your dream. That's it. Watch what's happening. Let the mystery unfold itself.

Super Smash Bros Brawl - Worth the Wait?

The favorite game for Wii this season has been the third installment of the Super Smash Bros called "Super Smash Bros Brawl". This is the game which all Wii console players have been waiting for a long time. After much delay the game is finally launched and it is one of the hottest games right now.

Now let me tell you more about the game and why you should have this in your Favorites section. The most important reason is because of its game play, even if you are not a Super Smash Bros fan, you will get addicted to this game in the first 10 minutes of game play. It is just really fun when you throw your enemies out of the screen with those unique special moves. This game can be played on four controllers which are Classic Controller, GameCube Controller, Wii Remote and Nunchuk and Wii remote together. So you can choose whichever controller you are comfortable with and you can configure them as you like. The game can be played in many modes, which includes standard multiplayer mode as well as elimination-based tournament where a maximum of 16 players can play the game, solo mode which is not very different from previous versions where you have randomly generated matches. My favorite mode has to be Adventure mode: The Subspace Emissary which is a side-scrolling based game with a wonderful storyline filled with meeting more friends as you go along and fighting the Bosses with the help of your friends. Mario and Kirby start the game as they go along side-scrolling fighting the Subspace armies and meeting friends who help them out with their fight against the Tabuu and the Subspace Army and saving the Smash Bros Universe.

The multiplayer is comparatively lag-free and with lot of features like sharing game replays, screenshots and custom levels with you friends. The custom levels created by the users cannot be used to play multiplayer game, but there are tons of awesome looking levels so it is not a deal breaker. Even if you have no friends playing Brawl, you can join multiplayer game in Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection and you can play with randomly selected participants. If you are new to Brawl and are intimidated with all Brawl PRO's, you can be a spectator and learn from the PRO's and then you can start playing.

Now to the most important feature of Brawl, it has 35 players to choose from. Some of the players are Snake from Metal Gear Solid Series, Pikachu from Pokemon series, Donkey Kong, Mario's alter ego Wario and the best addition Sonic the Hedgehog. Every Player has its own unique special moves and they are very much balanced. But I normally prefer Sonic because he is fast and can jump all over the screen. So the game is going on to become the "Game of the Year" title for Wii. If you have not already bought this game, now is the right to buy it. Work Hard, Play Harder.

60th Anniversary Celebrations for the Queen and Duke

Britain's Queen Elizabeth came to the British throne when she was only 25, and at her side has been Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, who married the Queen in 1947.

In the modern world of celebrities, celebrity relationships, marriages and highly publicised breakdowns - including that of her son Prince Charles and Princess Diana - it is easy to forget that the Queen has acted with grace and seldom complains of press coverage when it is unfavourable - unless it is simply untruthful, when the British Press Complaints body intervenes.

And the Queen now celebrates over sixty years of marriage to Prince Philip, and in typical fashion chose a low key couple of days on the island of Malta to celebrate, before heading off to Uganda on official business as Head of the Commonwealth.

Five years older than the Queen, Prince Philip first met the then Princess Elizabeth when she was 13, but it was some seven years later before they started courting and became engaged, and married at Westminster Abbey in November 1947.

The time they spent together before Elizabeth acceeded to the throne is thought to be among their happiest memories. Prince Philip was still a Royal Navy Officer when they married and he was stationed in Malta. The island was quite different then from what it is now, with hotels in Malta now dotting the landscape.

The island of Malta allowed Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip to live a life as near as possibly could be called normal as an heir to the British throne.

The Malta of today is unrecognisable from the Malta when the Queen lived there. The island had been involved in the Second World War and gallantly held out as the German and Italian air forces tried to bomb her into submission, and Malta was awarded the George Cross on April 15 1942 by the Queen's father, King George VI.

In 1942 61 RAF Spitfires, famous for their role in the Battle of Britain, arrived on the island to fight off the German and Italian airforces and Malta survived to become today a member of the EU, and from January 1 this year even voluntarily surrendered part of her hard fought for independence and national identity to adopt the Euro as her official currency.

The modern Malta the Queen and Prince Philip visited as part of their 60th wedding anniversary celebrations has been transformed into a holiday island, with cheap flight to Malta deals bringing in tourists from the United Kingdom, and increasingly from Italy, although the UK remains Malta's most important market.

Meanwhile, the population of Malta has swollen from just over 300,000 in 1950 to over 400,000 now, with the Maltese people moving away from the rural areas to the capital Valletta and towns such as Sliema. Mellieha, a sleepy village on Malta's north coast then, is becoming a popular holiday resort with hotel and villa holidays popular with British and German holiday makers.

Since the 1970's Malta has been a holiday destination and a large part of her economy now relies on the Malta holidays industry. A few years of decline have been reversed by the acceptance of low cost airlines, not just from the UK but other parts of Europe too, and the island is able to offer both 5 star Malta holidays but also cheap Malta holidays too.

When Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip lived on the island few if any people were taking a holiday in Malta, and the population was Maltese with British and some Commonwealth military and civilian workers. Until recently the vast majority of those taking a Malta holiday were British, but the cheap airlines are allowing diversification with tourists not just from the UK - although it remains Malta's prime market, but from Italy, Germany, Spain and the Scandanavian countries.

It's worth bearing in mind just how long Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip have been married - sixteen years already before the Beatles had their first number 1 and they weren't far off their silver wedding anniversary when Neil Armstrong became the first man to walk on the moon and the Beatles were splitting up and Paul McCartney was first thinking of his new group Wings.

Malta will be hoping the Royal couple visit the island again for their 70th wedding anniversary for a vacation.

World Tour follows in Rock Band’s footsteps by adding drums, vocals and a band career, but it also adds a few new features.  A robust song creator engine lets you create your own songs and download others’ songs, but the resulting songs are all low quality productions that aren’t as fun to play as original popular songs.  While the drum and vocal gameplay don’t differ much from Rock Band, the guitar gameplay does include a few new features that will challenge seasoned veterans in new ways.

The main addition to the series is the inclusion of drums, vocals and band gameplay modes that are nearly identical to the experience created by the first Rock Band game.  The only difference from Rock Band’s drums and vocals gameplay is that you can use your star power at any point during a song rather than waiting for drum or vocal solo sections.  Each instrument has solo sections, but they are only used to give you bonus points rather than starting your star power.  Activision made a new set of drums for World Tour that includes cymbal pads raised above the other drum pads and a new guitar with fret buttons further down the neck.  Don’t worry if you already own older versions of these instruments.  You don’t need to buy these new variations to play the game.

Each of the instruments, including the bass guitar, has its own career mode.  In each career, you’ll progressively tour the world and unlock new and more difficult songs.  For each set you complete, you’ll receive money for how well you perform, which you can use to customize your character’s clothes, hair, instruments and a wide variety of other features.  You can also use your earnings to gain access to a few exclusive sets of songs.  If your primary interest is to unlock all of the game’s songs, you can also choose to change the game’s difficulty to progress beyond the harder songs.

In addition to simply playing songs, you’ll also face off against famous musicians during your career.  Guitar Hero III handled these encounters with a battle mode where you had to make your adversary fail a song by using powerups that made the song more difficult for your opponent to play.  World Tour simplifies these encounters by merely asking you to perform the song well enough to prevent the audience from completely favoring your opponent, which is much less challenging.  After you defeat famous rockers, such as Jimi Hendrix, Ozzie Osbourne, and Billy Corgan, you’ll be able to perform using their likenesses.

The Band career mode is also nearly identical to the Rock Band gameplay where you go on stage with at least one other friend to play the same songs and earn cash to further customize your characters.  The main difference is that you can’t directly save each other from failing songs.  The game handles saving members by letting the band share star power among its members.  The result is that your group will need to collaborate and use the star power strategically.  If one member is missing a ton of notes, then the band will need to let the other members earn the star power and tell him to use it to ensure everyone doesn’t get booed off stage.

World Tour is clearly trying to broaden its audience by lowering the overall difficulty settings and adding the new beginner mode.  The Guitar Hero series is known to have more difficult note patterns, but World Tour has noticeably easier note patterns that also fly by at a slower speed.  As a result, the Rock Band and World Tour difficulties are virtually identical.  The new Beginner difficulty serves to allow people completely new to rhythm gaming to play by simply hitting any note at the correct time without having to switch fingers between notes.

While drums and vocals are included for the first time in the series, the guitar gameplay also changed to add new note patterns.  There are some new sections with multiple notes that you must hold down that begin at varying points.  Some other notes only require you to press the fret buttons to play them.  Removing the need to strum the guitar for these sections makes the game easier and detracts from the feeling that you are playing a famous song.  The only reason it seems that they included these simpler notes is to give people a reason to buy their new guitar.  The latest guitar includes buttons positioned closely together lower on the guitar neck, which are easier to glide across in these simpler sections.  Don’t worry if you want to play the game with an older guitar you shouldn’t have any problems by using the standard fret buttons.

The last main change to the series is the ability to make your own songs and download other gamer’s songs.  Initially this sounds like a cool new feature, but it doesn’t amount to a very large addition.  Making your own songs involves choosing an instrument and playing notes to record your song.  You can also record notes for each instrument to generate a song that a full band can play together.  After you finish creating the song’s notes you can alter the sound further with various effects, such as giving the guitar track a twang or metal effect, the song’s tempo and a wide variety of other features.  Then you can upload your creation for others to play and rate.  If you just want to download other people’s songs, you can easily find the most popular songs based on the ratings other players give them.   While the creation process is robust, the actual songs have a low sound quality.  The highest rated songs generally have a great sense of rhythm, but they just aren’t as engrossing as playing the well-known songs heard on the radio.

World Tour includes quite a few online multiplayer game modes.  You can face off against another guitar, drum or vocals player to see who is better at playing an entire song or alternating sections of the same song.  Guitar players can also play the battle mode, where they compete to play a song more accurately while using powers to increase their opponent’s difficulty.  As you play in the Battle mode, you earn a wide variety of powers that invert note patterns, remove the whammy bar’s effect, or make some notes impossible to play.  You can also play songs co-operatively on the guitar with a friend. 

If you can’t get enough bandmates together locally, then you can fill in missing members with online players the game finds for you.  You can also get your band together to play songs competitively against another band online.  The only problems I found with the band gameplay online is that it is very difficult to find someone to sing songs, but that’s not the game’s fault.  Even if a singer joins your band, many players quit because they can’t sing the song that is chosen by other members.  I presume this happens because it is much harder to sing songs than it is to play them with an instrument.

The gameplay options and modes are quite expansive, but it would have been nice if updatable challenges could have made it into the game.  Rock Band 2 includes a variety of challenges related to playing groups of songs from the same band, genre or decade with particular instruments or as a band.  The developers constantly update the challenges list to ensure players never get bored with the same list of challenges.  This constantly updated list of challenges gives the game a great sense of variety as players endlessly challenge themselves to get the highest score in all the different leaderboards.

The game includes a lot of songs that you can play in 4 different careers, but there is also a great online shop that offers an expanding library of new songs to download and play.  Taking its cue from the Rock Band store, you can sort songs according to artist, decade and album to easily find the style of music you like.  You can also preview songs before purchasing them, which increases the chance you will try something from a band you haven’t heard before.

The game includes over 90 songs, which are all master recordings.  In addition to popular songs ranging from classic rock to the latest rock songs from this decade, the game also includes some pop and country hits, such as Beat It and On the Road Again, which further expands the game’s appeal.  A lot of the game’s draw depends on if you like the songs included with the game, so make sure to review the song list before buying the game.

World Tour pushes the series to match Rock Band’s offering by including drums, vocals and band gameplay, while also adding new guitar note patterns.  The varied and expansive online game modes and growing downloadable song library ensure that the game will keep you entertained for quite some time.  The engine used to create new songs offers a great deal of options, but the resulting lower quality songs will likely only interest the most hardcore of rhythm gamers who enjoy a good challenge.  Many of the game’s changes simply match Rock Band’s features and fail to push the series or genre forward a great deal.  Overall, World Tour is a good game that will keep gamers rocking until the next game is released, but it is also showing that the genre’s creativity may be peaking.

This edition of the MusicDish*China Sounds podcast presented by Metal Postcard Records features bands from China's main music hubs - Beijing, Hong Kong and Shanghai - as well as our first artist interview with Poubelle International.

The podcast opens with Hong Kong's rock monsters DP, which recently took the stage at Austin's SXSW conference. We originally played DP's single "Supermegadon" in our inaugural podcast, and they have since been putting the finishing touches to their full-length, self-titled debut release. The track "Man Thresher" will be released on a double A-side 7' with their track "My Hyena" this spring. Also, keep an eye out for the band's collaboration with multi-talented Quan Yeomans to create a video for their track Velvet Tiger. The video is set for release in the coming weeks.

DP recently shared the stage with our featured band Poubelle International on March 27th during the "Music For Your Marrow," a benefit concert to support the Hong Kong Bone Marrow Service. We first mentioned Poubelle International when they played the closing music performances for the 2009 Hong Kong & Shenzhen Bi-City Biennale of Urbanism - Architecture: 'Bring Your Own Biennale' (BYOB). We then promised to play my favorite track "The Sell Out," and we kept our word and more. Sean Hocking interviews band leader Ben McCarthy on the group's name, their recent shows in Manila, Philippines, their new EP "Avec La Boom" and track The Battle of Trafalgar Square.

Off to Shanghai for a pleasant surprise called The Curry Soap, a solo project by Muscle Snog's synth player and vocals Vivien Albarn. Their song "Little Northern Europe" reunites Vivien with Muscle Snog drummer Zheng Ke. The song reminds me of the sounds of Beijing-based White and would be perfect for more high-brow anime.

Staying with Shanghai, we discover the gentle post-rock self-titled single from 21g, named after the movie "21 grams" by Mexico director Alejandro González Iñárritu. Formed in 2004, the 4-piece band released their debut album "21 grams" two years later.

Another one of my personal favorite bands that laid the foundation for Beijing's indie scene is Hedgehog. The band was part of the Sing For China tour last year, joining Queen Sea Big Shark and Casino Demon for 22 days across 18 cities. I'm certainly looking forward to hearing more on "B-side Lovers," a brand new group formed by Hedgehog members Zijian and Atom. In the meantime, we're playing Apart from Hedgehog's 2007 album "Noise Hit World."

We wrap up the podcast with something one does not often find associated with chinese music: political speech. Songwriter Ah-P with Hong Kong band My Little Airport penned a song on the city's Chief Executive Donald Tsang called "Donald Tsang, Please Die," whose video on YouTube is about to break the 100,000 mark.

A Brief History of the Big 4 Public Accounting Firms

Entering a Big 4 Firm is a lot like entering a secret society or fraternity.  There are traditions and secrets that are shared by the members and passed down to new recruits.  This feeling of comradery and heritage is one of the most special parts of working for a Big 4 firm and what separates the experience from working for a regional or local firm. 

As you begin your journey it will do you good to learn a bit of the history of these firms.  Knowing where these firms have been will help you understand the role that you will be taking on as a new recruit and the legacy you will continue. 

While you will most likely not be held responsible for this information in an interview, learning these basic facts will provide you with an easy way to impress the Big 4.

PricewaterhouseCoopers (aka PwC, “P Dubs”)

The history of PwC dates back to the 19th century London.  Samuel Lowell Price, the son of a Bristol stone potter, was born in 1821.  Entering the accounting profession at an early age, Price was a member of several smaller firms before striking out on his own as a sole practitioner. 

Meanwhile, a young English accountant, Edwin Waterhouse (b. 1841), was making a name for himself.  The son of lucrative mill-owning parents, and brother to Alfred Waterhouse, a prominent London architect, Edwin rose quickly in the ranks to the London accounting elite.

Around this time, another accountant by the name of William Cooper established a rival firm in London with his three brothers.  Across the ocean in the U.S., William Lybrand and others created yet another firm.  These firms merged in 1957 into what would be known as Coopers and Lybrand.

Price and Waterhouse joined forces in 1874 to create Price, Waterhouse & Co.  The firm became well-known as one of the finest in London and eventually opened their first U.S. office in 1890 in New York.  The firm began to establish separate partnerships across the globe.

In 1998 Coopers & Lybrand merged with Price Waterhouse to form, PricewaterhouseCoopers.  The firm now employs over 146,000 people in 150 countries and had worldwide revenues of $28 billion in fiscal year 2008.

Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu (aka Deloitte, D&T, Deloitte & Touche)

Back to London….let’s meet William Welch Deloitte. Born in 1818, Deloitte was the grandson of Count de Loitte, an expatriate of France who left during the French Revolution.  Deloitte was a quick learner and began his career at the age of 15 in the bankruptcy courts of London.  Deloitte opened his own office at the age of 25 with a focus on the railway industry.  In fact, Deloitte was employed as the first external auditor EVER appointed and developed a system of safeguarding records to protect investors. 

Deloitte would go on to become president of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and open a U.S. practice in 1893. 

Sir George Alexander Touche (b. 1861), an accountant from, you guessed it…London, opened a practice in 1899.  He later spread the practice to New York, capitalizing on the growing demand for income tax preparation. 

Over the course of the 20th century, Deloitte and Touches’ separate firms merged with a number of other firms in various markets.  One of the key mergers was the combination of Touché Ross (as it was then known) and the Japanese firm, Tohmatsu Awoki & Co in 1975.

In 1989, the firm then known as Deloitte Haskins & Sells broke up.  The majority of the individual partnerships that had made up the firm, including the U.S. piece, merged with Touché Ross to form Deloitte & Touché.  Some of the smaller partnerships that were against the merger of Touché Ross merged with Coopers & Lybrand.  In 1993 the firm was renamed to Deloitte Touché Tohmatsu, due to the growing influence of the Japanese brand. 

The firm now employs over 165,000 people in 140 countries and had worldwide revenues of $27.4 billion in fiscal year 2008  

Ernst & Young (aka E&Y, EY)

As is the case with PwC and Deloitte, E&Y in its current state is a result of a series of mergers.  One difference with E&Y, however, is that the major players and namesakes of the firm are American rather than British.  In 1903 an accounting firm was formed in Cleveland by brothers Theodore and Alwin Ernst.  In 1906 the firm Arthur Young & Co. was established in Chicago.   These two firms individually joined forces with well-known British firms.  Ernst merged with Whinney Smith & Whinney and Young joined forces with Broads Patterson & Co.  In 1989, the successors of these firms merged to create what we now know as Ernst & Young.

The firm now employs over 137,000 people in worldwide and had revenues of $24.5 billion in fiscal year 2008    

KPMG (aka Klynveld, Peat, Marwick, Goerdeler)

By now I’m sure you can see a pattern here:  two or three dominant US and British firms join forces, go through a series of mergers and achieve world-wide status.  KPMG is no different.  The key information to note is the following:

Prominent British Founder – William Barclay Peat (b. 1852)

Key Mergers:

• William Barclay Peat merge with Marwick Mitchell Co. (1911) to form Peat Marwick Mitchell & Co.
• Thomson McLintock firm forms a group of independent European firms known as KMG (1979)
• KMG and Peat Marwick Mitchell & Co. join forces in largest accounting firm merger to date to form KPMG (1987)
• Renamed to KPMG Peat Marwick (1991)
• Renamed back to KPMG (1995)

It is interesting to note that KPMG and E&Y were all but ready to merge in 1997 as a power play against the merger of Price Waterhouse and Coopers Lybrand.  However, this merger eventually fell through.

The firm now employs over 123,000 people in worldwide and had revenues of $19.8 billion in fiscal year 2008.

Phew….that is all for the history lesson.  The common theme here is that these firms are all founded by the best and the brightest of their time.  The accounting profession as we know it today would not be what it is without good old Sam Price, Billy Deloitte, Teddy Ernst and Bill Peat.  These men are the founding fathers of public accounting and it is their legacy you will continue when you join on of these great firms.  Their stories are a lesson in excellence and their influence is still felt to this day.

Some people started to angry beat senator desks, and aloud abused.

Windon spoke,“Thank you, please go back your seat.” Windon turned to say people,“The fact in front of eyes, our premier having lie! He’s twiddle with us!” A supporter standed up and asked,“Honor Windon, Why didn’t stop the tragedy happend before? Why?” She’s an exciting. Windon answered, “Please calm down, this question very good asked! Those cases we should stopped to, but it’s weren’t know all people, When I knew the thing its too late, my power is very limited. Because the premier keep a firm hand on parliament, How get force to resist? This is one of main reason why I secretly meeting with you.” Another supporter asked him,“I want to ask Honor Windon, What’s proof Have you? How to prove the parliament was controlled? Would you explaint?” then a supporter suddently stand up and told the supporter that, “Do you think these cases can’t proved?”

“Right!” “He’s right.” Gabble talking from people.

Windon answered again,“Calm down, please, listen to me. Now that some people don’t believe, I want to do a small test with us. Two years ago, had a discussion meeting of great project building of G.I.M.E. right? We’re a member of ten thousand senators of empire? Good, please remember voteed that day, then watch the screen.” People suddenly likes jump heart out, a man angry shout,“What’s happened? I’m sure voted the nay, but why not!” An other man shout,“Why! It’s changed!” Windon spoked,“Do you discover a question too?” People dispatience. Windon asked them,“Ladys and gentlemen, Who knows these senators?” men and women shake an one’s head, some people exclamation.

“So bad! If I didn’t see the fact, I couldn’t dare believe this true.” “Real bastard!” “Darned.” People’s angry emotion more and more evidence.

Windon looked over everbody, then continued to say,“Are they proofs? Yes, they are. Our parliament such like those. Only 3000 people Really care parliament? Where’re others?” People angry cry and loud, Windon spoke again,“Please callmness, ladys and gentlmen, callmness.”

People controlled themself in difficulty.

Windon asked,“These years, how many additional money do you earn? Only know some parts of totall in possible. Don’t worry, I have collectied incomes of all senators since 100 years ago, including other income concern. Ladys and gentlemen, scrutiny action. The names were amended by me. Surge feelings of the massess in the hall. Some people bravely standed up on the rostrum, said aloud,“Liyidan! Down! Liyidan! Down!” People too, at a stretch, whole hall such deafening.

The block had a somewhat unusual relationship to the Fox Network. The programming was produced for Fox and offered to Fox affiliates first, so the Fox affiliate in any given area has right of first refusal. In the event a Fox affiliate or in some cases an O & O, Owned and Operated, Fox affiliate opts not to carry 4Kids TV the block then is available in the market for another television station to pick up. In fact, it was due in part to this relationship that 4Kids dissolved the block in 2008, as they had been promised clearance on at least 90% of Fox affiliates.
Most 4Kids TV programming did not meet the criteria to be considered educational and did not count toward the 3 hour per week mandatory educational children's programming quotas. The only exceptions were Winx Club, The Adrenaline Project, Magical DoReMi, Stargate Infinity, reruns of Back to the Future: the Animated Series, and Cubix. Markets where 4Kids TV did not run at all

Dating back to the Fox Kids days, the stations that Fox acquired from New World Communications in 1996 generally did not air 4Kids TV. In some of the New World markets, 4Kids was not aired on any station. In a majority of these markets, an independent station carried this block: in others, the MyNetworkTV affiliate carried it: in still others, the CW affiliate carried it. The exception was St. Louis, Missouri, where KTVI carried 4Kids TV (2 hours early, beginning at 5:00). KTVK and KASW
KASW signed on in September 1995 on channel 61. It was originally owned by the Brooks family and immediately secured a local marketing agreement with MAC America Communications, then owner of KTVK. KTVK bought the entire broadcast day on the station to run shows that did not fit into KTVK's schedule. The WB affiliation also went from KTVK to KASW. The station ran syndicated cartoons, Kids' WB! cartoons, first-run shows from The WB Television Network, classic sitcoms, recent sitcoms, old movies, and eventually Fox Kids by the end of 1996.
KNXV officially became Phoenix's ABC affiliate in January 1995, and KTVK nominally became the market's WB affiliate. However, it only showed WB programming on Saturday nights, so it was essentially an independent station. It also ran Fox Kids in the early afternoons and weekend mornings for about a year. The station aired Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy!, Star Trek: The Next Generation, and several off-network sitcoms during prime time.
KTVK owned a huge programming inventory, but lacked enough time in its broadcast day to air it all even after dropping ABC. As such, when the Brooks family launched a new station, KASW, in September, KTVK immediately entered into a local marketing agreement with the new station. KASW became a WB affiliate, and KTVK bought the new station's entire broadcast day. KTVK then reinstated Saturday morning newscasts.
Ironically, since 2001 Fox owned both KSAZ Fox 10 and KUTP My 45 (then UPN 45). It was thought that 4Kids TV would move to Channel 45 but Fox still passed on it even for their second station in that market. It therefore remained on KASW. Markets where 4Kids TV ran on a current independent station
